Staff Reporter, 8 September, Agartala :BJP West Tripura parliamentarian Pratima Bhowmik on Monday chaired a review meeting at GBP hospital that witnessed attendance of all the doctors, health staff and members of the patient welfare association. The meeting, Pratima Described, as an attempt to put a permanent stop on the unabated reports of shortcomings and lapses and also to ensure a longstanding coordination between the staff.
“We have put our heads together to at least have an everlasting solution to the lapses. The doctors of the hospital are putting their lives at stake to battle the Covid 19 head on. In most of the cases their sacrifices are unreported and get very little media hog, although this is a thankless job” Bhwomik said while briefing the media and also added, “the most significant part of this meeting is to settle the problems. We are here to bridge the gaps. Certainly, when you work there will be flaws”.
Bhowmik also said, the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has charted out a 12 point suggestion to tackle the problems. In most of these cases work has begun. The doctors are ready for their assignments, the specific help desks are beings designed exclusively for Covid patient relatives. In some specific cases, the designated volunteers will work to smoothen the way of getting the job done, she added.
“Two groups of volunteers have arrived here in the hospital for non-medical attendance for the patients. Food delivery, supply of essentials, communication and issues like discharge of asymptomatic patients will be taken care of by the volunteers”, said Pratima.
On being asked about the problems faced by the relatives, she said, In the last two months more than 70 women have delivered babies who are completely healthy right now. And, the long standing oxygen issue has been resolved as separate whatsapp groups have been made to update day to day pressure of oxygen systems in GBP hospital.
