More 628 positive, death toll rises to 151, CM chaired high level meeting with health officials

Staff Repoter, Agartala 7 Septembr:: As the spurt in certain number of positive cases has been increasing daily across Tripura and after continuous media reports on total chaotic situation inside Covid hospital and frequent deaths of Covid infected people, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday evening attended a high level meeting with all top authorities of Health department including authorities of GB Hospital, authorities of different private nursing homes, ILS hospital and Health officials of West Tripura district to prepare a concrete plan for better health services.

The meeting had elaborate discussion on the expansion of health services in private institutions and Chief Minister asked the authorities of private nursing homes to set up facilities for Covid-19 tests in their respective institute along with ambulance services to shift any Covid positive patient to any government Covid care centres.

He also suggested the authorities of Tripura Medical College (TMC) to increase the Oxygen equipped beds up to 100 beds.

Deb also enquired about bed facilities and other medical services in private nursing homes and highlighted on frequent interaction with Covid-19 patients by on-duty doctors. Deb said that all home isolation patients should get the support of emergency response system through 112 number.

Meanwhile, as Tripura registered its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases on September 4th last with 691 positive cases, again on Monday state has registered with 628 positive cases with deaths of 3 persons due to Covid infection, which pushed the death toll into 151. Now, the state’s total Covid positive figure rises to 16, 135 and the death toll rose to 151 after three more people succumbed to the infection. West Tripura district, of which state capital Agartala is a part, has accounted for 81 of the 151 Covid-19 deaths.

The state currently has 6,639 active cases, while 9,342 people have recovered from the disease. Twenty-two patients have migrated to other states.
